The famous international event Laval Virtual is dedicated to virtual and augmented reality. For the first time, the 23rd edition (7-9 July 2021) is going to be held both online and offline.
Last year, the Covid pandemic prevented many events from taking place. This was not the case for the Laval Virtual show: in just a few weeks, the organisers switched to a 100% virtual version with the Laval Virtual world.
This year’s edition, which will be held in Laval (Atlantic France) from July 7 to 9, 2021, will be an “augmented” event, both physical and virtual. It will be “the first hybrid event”, claims the association which organises it. Accessible from all over the world, the virtual part of the event will allow participants to attend conferences, meet exhibitors and network with other visitors.
A benchmark event for virtual and augmented reality
Laval Virtual is a major professional event, #1 in Europe in the XR sector. 300 exhibitors and 18,000 visitors are expected, and the conference program will be hosted by more than 150 high-level speakers from 50 countries. The conferences will cover many topics such as investment in VR, content creation, VR for good, ethics, education, tourism, health, sport, industry 4.0, etc.
The event also organises innovation awards with the ReVolution competitions which is divided into three categories: #Startups, #Research and #Students. 42 innovative projects are in competition and many will be presented in the booths of the exhibition space.
A showcase for tomorrow’s technologies for the general public
Alongside the main event which addresses professionals, the Laval Virtual association decided to also organise a series of activities open to individuals. From July 3 to 11, the Festival by Laval Virtual will therefore propose over 70 activities in 24 places of the city of Laval. And other interesting side events are programmed, such as the Convention of ethics and future technologies E-thique and the Visionaries Think Tank.
