The launch of Lacroix Group‘s new electric vehicle (EV) charging station production line marks a further step forward for the electric mobility industry in France.
In a context of growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions, the Lacroix Group has taken an important step by inaugurating its new electric vehicle charging station production line at its Symbiose plant in Beaupréau-en-Mauges, with a commitment to produce 65,000 units per year by 2026. This project stands out for its focus on automation and digitalisation, as well as its clear commitment to sustainability.
Collaboration as a driver of innovation
The charging station project, developed in collaboration with Renault and other partners in the Software République ecosystem, illustrates the power of business synergies to create advanced solutions for the market.
By combining Renault’s expertise in vehicle charging systems, Thales’ expertise in data protection, STMicroelectronics’ semiconductor components and IoTecha Corp.’s test supervision and regulatory compliance, a two-way charging station has been created that is secure in terms of cybersecurity, intelligent and networked.
This collaboration marks a shift in business dynamics from a customer-supplier relationship to a partnership where each party contributes a critical component to the project. This collaborative approach accelerates the implementation of innovative projects and addresses major societal challenges.
The Mobilize PowerBox innovation
The Mobilize PowerBox is a perfect example of innovation “Made in France” and illustrates the ability of local industry to develop ambitious projects in the field of electric mobility. Manufactured at the Lacroix Group’s Symbiose plant, this bi-directional charging station facilitates the transition to electric vehicles and allows users to better manage energy consumption in their homes.
How does it work? The integrated Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology allows the energy stored in the vehicle’s batteries to be fed back into the grid, helping to manage peak demand and promote the use of renewable energy. This means potential savings for consumers.
A sustainable and networked future
The initiative taken by Lacroix and its partners once again highlights the commitment of manufacturers in Atlantic France to developing more sustainable mobility, as well as the leading role they play in the country in terms of innovation and achieving this environmental goal.
The production of the Mobilize PowerBox at the Symbiose plant is proof of France’s industrial potential as a leader in sustainable technology and electronics.
The implementation of these charging stations will ensure technological change while creating and maintaining local jobs, demonstrating that environmental change can go hand in hand with economic development and industrial innovation.
The environmental and social impact of sustainable electric mobility
Electric mobility is essential in the fight against climate change and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. In this context, the production of the Mobilize Powerbox by the Lacroix Group and its collaboration with Renault and other partners in the Software République ecosystem represent three benefits for society:
- Reduction of the carbon footprint: By enabling electric vehicles to return energy to the grid during peak demand periods, it encourages greater use of renewable energy and reduces dependence on fossil fuels.
- Support for the local economy: Manufacturing the charging stations in France supports local economic development by creating jobs and strengthening the national industry.
- Education and sustainability awareness: The project serves as an example of how technology can be used to balance energy needs with environmental goals, raising public awareness of the importance of reducing carbon emissions.
