Many events were cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Laval Virtual decided to innovate, and in just a few weeks the organization team turned the event into a 100% virtual exhibition. The experience called Laval Virtual world will take place from 22nd to 24th April 2020 and registration is free.
#FeelTheVirtualForce is the catchphrase of the 22nd Laval Virtual. Since 1999, the international event dedicated to virtual and augmented reality has been organized in Atlantic France.
Last year, 18,000 visitors of 50 nationalities attended the show. This year, the exhibition will be free and 100% online, with many interaction possibilities thanks to virtual reality.
Virtual networking for real business opportunities
The organizers have chosen the American platform Virbela which allows a virtual place to be combined with social interaction technologies. In the Laval Virtual world, accessible via the event’s mobile app, the participants will be able to attend the conferences through an avatar.
They will also have the possibility to interact with the registrants as well as the speakers in many ways: one-to-one video calls, virtual meetings and demos, group discussions… a handful of networking channels which will allow the participants to discuss and explore business opportunities.
Inspiring conferences and virtual art
The Laval Virtual 2020 programme offers 6 conference cycles: VRtical, TransVRsal, ConVRgence, Virtual World, Art and Tech Talk. The event will gather speakers from all around the world such as Alina Mikhaleva (Less Media Group, USA), Alexandre Embry (Capgemini, France), Luis Martins (Nextreality, Portugal), Jakob Bornecrantz (Collabora, UK)…
The artistic festival Recto VRso will also be adapted to an online setting. For example, a virtual art exhibition will be presented inside the 17th century chapel of the Lycée Ambroise Paré which has been reproduced in 3D.
