Hyvolution 2025: Atlantic France at the forefront of hydrogen innovation

#Hydrogen #Updates&co

Atlantic France is gearing up to showcase its leadership in hydrogen innovation. At Hyvolution 2025, the region will present its strategic projects, advanced technologies, and vibrant ecosystem driving Europe’s energy transition.

Atlantic France has invested heavily in research, training, and infrastructure to establish a comprehensive hydrogen value chain. With 80 specialised businesses and over 150 active projects, the region is positioning itself as a leader in green renewable hydrogen, while promoting open innovation.

Hyvolution 2025, taking place from the 28th to the 30th of January 2025, in Paris, will reflect this collaborative spirit. Once again, our region will have a strong presence with a central, highly visible pavilion that showcases the vitality of our sector and highlights its strategic importance to the regional council. This space will serve as a platform for our achievements and a hub for promoting regional expertise.

Additionally, our proximity to the pavilions of Brittany and Normandy underscores the inter-regional cooperation we have been fostering over the past two years. Together, we are building a critical Grand West hub on both a French and European scale, driven by key projects and strengthened by connections through major ports.

A representation of the region’s hydrogen strengths

The pavilion will host eight regional co-exhibitors, complemented by other regional exhibitors with their own stands such as Lhyfe, Vensys e-Neo, and CETIM with its Hymeet programme in Nantes:

  • Artis, a leader in industrial piping solutions, offers expertise in the design, construction, and maintenance of gas networks.
  • Atinéa, supported by the city of La Roche sur Yon and private partners such as Michelin, drives innovation in energy transition and sustainable mobility.
  • Edeis designs and constructs industrial production and research facilities.
  • Europe Technologies with its brand CIAM® is dedicated to the decarbonisation of heavy mobility sectors, including maritime, river transport, and special vehicles.
  • FÉTIS Group, a systems integrator for the maritime, land heavy mobility, and energy sectors, provides tailored solutions for the decarbonisation of machinery through co-innovation, co-engineering, and co-development.
  • IRT Jules Verne is an industrial research centre dedicated to manufacturing for strategic sectors such as aeronautics, automotive, energy, shipbuilding, and production equipment.
  • Neopolia is an industrial business cluster comprising 240 companies from the Atlantic France region that fosters collaborative business opportunities to explore new markets and drive diversification.
  • Sherpa Engineering, a specialist in advanced systems design and optimisation, builds digital twins to test and optimise H2 applications.

A rich programme of activities

Each day, one to two key events will be led by regional stakeholders, focusing on themes such as liquid hydrogen and storage tanks, aeronautical applications, maritime projects, storage and distribution solutions, and cutting-edge R&D equipment.

A dedicated pitch session will offer international stakeholders a platform to collaborate with our regional ecosystem on projects and partnerships. Delegations from around the world will also be welcomed to explore opportunities for cooperation.

To encourage meaningful exchanges and foster collaboration, a dedicated team will be on hand throughout the event. This includes hydrogen experts, the international investment team, EEN representatives, and the Attractiveness France team, all working together to support B2B meetings and facilitate concrete discussions on potential partnerships.

Hydrogen Planet: Atlantic France at the forefront of the energy transition

With this robust presence, our pavilion will once again demonstrate the dynamism and strategic significance of our region in shaping the future of energy. We have created an ecosystem called Hydrogen Planet which includes:

  • The largest port and energy hub on the Atlantic coast.
  • A vibrant industry comprising 80 specialist businesses across the region, with over 150 projects covering the entire value chain.
  • Leading international companies who invest in the region such as Airbus and Manitou Group.
  • Excellent prospects for producing alternative and sustainable fuels for the maritime and aviation industries.
  • Specialist courses and training centres of excellence in hydrogen.
  • Leading research laboratories and outstanding test facilities: Nantes and Le Mans Universities, IMN, CEA Tech, Centrale Nantes, CETIM national technical centre, Open-C for sea trials.
  • The roll-out of a distribution network, with five filling stations in operation across the region.

In Atlantic France, we are fortunate to have a hydrogen sector that is already well established. Many projects are up and running. Businesses and researchers are hard at work and ecosystems are taking shape across the region. Our aim now is to make Atlantic France a leading region for renewable hydrogen production.
Christelle Morançais, President of the Atlantic France Regional Council
