The multinational company Medline, established in 1979 in Châteaubriant, Atlantic France, specialises in the assembly of sterile, single-use medical kits (SPTs) for operating theatres all across Europe. After a downturn in surgical activities due to the pandemic, Medline has returned to its previous SPT production levels and is recruiting again at its new office and renovated facility.
Medline is ramping up production due to an increase in demand across Europe. To support this growth, the company has undertaken a major expansion project in Châteaubriant (Atlantic France) and is hiring. The manufacturing division generates a turnover of nearly €55 million per year, according to Guillaume Monsallier, Managing Director of Medline Assembly France.
New office opening in Châteaubriant
The Medline assembly site for the sterile procedure kits (SPTs), that are distributed to surgical units across Europe, is in Châteaubriant. A new office building has opened there, with 67 new working spaces as well as a customer showroom and a training centre. This new office has been built to provide a more modern working environment for Medline’s employees, as well as a new training environment for customers.
This building is also in the process of achieving LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification and the Passive House label for meeting green building standards. Thanks to the expertise of its employees, the Châteaubriant production site received the ‘Industry of the Future Showcase’ label last year, which recognises the innovation and excellence of the Châteaubriant site.
In addition to the new office, parts of the production facility (including the locker area and break room) have been refurbished and redesigned to have the same look and feel as the new additions, creating a cohesive and professional aesthetic.
Ongoing recruitment process
With the recovery of surgical activity, Medline Assembly France is returning to its previous production level and is actively hiring. Châteaubriant’s plant counts 340 employees, 290 of whom work in production and around 50 in support functions (quality, regulatory affairs) for Europe.
The company has outlined the need for production operators, forklift and warehouse operators, as well as buyers and quality engineers. To make the recruitment process even easier, the company has organised speed job interview events, a job fair, as well as company visits. You can learn more about Medline as an employer here.
