Factory of the future: Naval Group opens an OpenLab near Nantes

European leader in naval defence, Naval Group is also a key player in the energy sector. The international group inaugurated an open innovation laboratory (OpenLab) in Indret, near Nantes.

Over the past 4 years, Naval Group invested €100 million in its Nantes-Indret site. With the creation of a 300 square meter collaborative OpenLab, the company now offers its teams installations to innovate. The lab allows them to prototype and test all kinds of innovations thanks to 3D printers, digital services, water jet cutters…

Also based in the Technocampus Ocean and involved in the local development of marine renewables, Naval Group has made Pays de la Loire one of its favourite innovation hubs. The opening of this OpenLab is a new example of how Atlantic France is moving quickly toward industry 4.0.
