Angers will host the SIVAL trade show in January 2022. This international event dedicated to plant production is a perfect showcase for the agrotechnology industry, one of Atlantic France’s most innovative sectors.
Each year, the SIVAL trade show brings 700 exhibitors and 26,000 professional visitors from over 50 countries to Angers.
Focused on the agriculture of tomorrow, the event which will take place in January 2022 is an occasion to shine the spotlight on innovative projects, especially those led by companies in Atlantic France.
SIVAL Innovation competition: rewarding the most promising Agtech projects
Alongside the business meetings and conferences, the SIVAL trade show holds an innovation contest. From the seeds to the packaging, the projects can address all kinds of needs.
Here are 3 examples of innovative plant production projects created in Atlantic France which have been selected for the 2021 competition:
- Pulzor: an innovative method of crop protection which uses the dispersal of predatory insects’ eggs;
- Ridder HortOS: a digital horticulture management solution aiming to facilitate plant production and collaborative work thanks to data;
- Eco’barquette champignons, of Saica pack: an ecological and customisable packaging box designed for mushrooms and other types of high moisture food.
AGREEN STARTUP, a 48-hour hackathon to make crazy ideas flourish
The SIVAL trade show also organises a competition dedicated to sustainable projects in crop production named AGREEN STARTUP. Anyone can step in and present an innovative idea for the plant production sector. The teams are then accompanied by experts during a 48-hour Hackathon to make their ideas grow as fast as light.
In 2020, a student from Angers won 2nd prize with Brew Flour (exploitation of brewing industry wastes) and an entrepreneur from Atlantic France won 3rd prize for Isol’en paille (short supply chains for the use of straw as an insulator).
