The Tunisian startup Mirage Holograms chose Laval, home to a thriving digital tech sector, to launch its business in France and Europe.
An ideal ecosystem
Mirage Holograms is a company specialised in holographic and interactive display solutions intended to optimise the commercial performance of points of sale or other places open to the public. Slim Khmissi and Aymen Mekki founded the Mirage Holograms start-up in Tunisia in 2015, and recently decided to open a European subsidiary in France.
In Laval, the company is part of an ideal ecosystem that can support its tech business, particularly in terms of virtual and augmented reality, the Internet of Things, retailing and information systems (AI and big data).
Just over an hour from Paris, Laval is also a great location for Mirage Holograms to grow their B2B business targeting the Paris region.
Regional support organisations that make all the difference
- Laval Mayenne Technopole, a hub for startups in the same business sector,
- Valuable strategic partners, including CLARTE and Laval Virtual Center, particularly as regards AR/VR,
- Media & Networks, a world-class leading competitiveness cluster for digital innovation.
Support from local economic development agencies
Detected by Business France and initially supported by the Maghreb & West and Central Africa investment hub, Mirage Holograms was registered on 31 December 2018, after receiving support from Laval Economie and Solutions&co, in particular to get to know the region and meet local contacts.
The Pays de la Loire Region, France’s third largest digital tech region, is strongly involved in supporting companies in the sector, particularly in the fields where we excel. At the vanguard of this dynamic economy, Laval, specialized in virtual and augmented reality, is strengthening its national reputation by welcoming a new international business in Atlantic France.
